In the built environment, longevity means designing spaces that measurably support a longer, healthier life. Light, air, sound and natural elements become health variables with target values. What is longevity in architecture?

Longevity in architecture is the practice of shaping interiors around healthspan. Each target is written into the brief and checked in the completed room. Four pillars carry the framework. CLCI tunes light: 4000–5000K across the day, 2200–2700K after sunset. BCS counts nature: every occupied space needs three or more natural elements. IAQM governs air with HEPA-13 filtration plus MVHR, keeping PM2.5 under 5 µg/m³ (WHO 2021). AHR restricts continuous indoor sound to less than 55 dB (WHO Europe 2018).

Evidence, not styling

The studio publishes outcome data instead of mood boards. A 240 m² Ankara residence recorded sleep up 38% and PSS-10 stress down 29%. Pediatric allergy symptoms halved in the same home (studio project data). A Beyoğlu loft retrofit lifted REM sleep from 18% to 25% of the night. Monthly asthma episodes stopped there after the air-quality work. Dripfy Clinic Corner Istanbul logged satisfaction 42% over the sector average and 68% repeat visits. The comparable sector repeat rate is 35%.
